Conference

Plenary Schedule Now Online

Entering its fifth year, the International Conference on Religion and Spirituality in Society meets annually to discuss the role of religion in today’s world. In addition to the annual themes, the 2015 conference will feature a special focus on “Social Movements and Faith”. To read more about the special focus, visit our webpage.

In addition to the special focus, we are excited to announce the plenary schedule for the 2015 Religion Conference in Berkeley, USA from 16-17 April. Community members who have attended a Religion Conference in the past will recall that each morning begins with thought provoking and interdisciplinary plenary panels. The plenary program sets the tone for discussion throughout the day and brings together both regional and international experts. We hope you will join in on the discussion!

To view the plenary program, please visit our webpage.

Publishing

Submit Your Book Proposal

Common Ground Publishing is setting new standards of rigorous academic knowledge creation and scholarly publication. Unlike other publishers, we’re not interested in the size of potential markets or competition from other books. We’re only interested in the intellectual quality of the work. If a book is a brilliant contribution to a specialist area of knowledge that only serves a small intellectual community, we still want to publish it. If it is expansive and has a broad appeal, we want to publish it too, but only if it is of the highest intellectual quality.

For more information on submitting a book proposal, please visit our website.

Community

Call for Advisory Board Members

The Religion in Society knowledge community is seeking applicants for the Advisory Board. The principle role of Advisory Board members is to consult on the overall intellectual direction of the conference and journal, reviewing community themes and reflecting on their role in relation to current trends and changes in the broader academic community.

Additionally, board members provide insights and suggestions on conference speakers and venues, while also helping to foster future collaborations and thematic partnerships. Board members may also serve as Editors of the journal series.

To apply, please send us your CV and a statement of interest by 30 August 2015. Applicants will be notified of the result of their application by September 2015
